How do I send a screen capture using Jabber?
During a chat session, click on the screen capture icon. You will then need to drag and highlight the area of the screen you wish to capture. Once you have selected the area of screen capture, press “Enter” key to send.
Do I need a VPN connection to be able to use Jabber outside the campus?
No, it is not necessary to be connected to a VPN for using Jabber outside the campus. We have deployed the off-campus solution to allow users connect back to UM Phone System without VPN when they work outside the campus that providing a consistent experience inside and outside the campus.

By default, users can only notice that the online users are running the Jabber application. To change the status automatically when you are inactive or lock your OS: Click and choose “File” -> “Options…” Go to the “Status” Tab to customize your settings.

Yes, right-click in the chat area and select “Save chat…”. A Save As window will appear. Save your chat history into a HTML file into the desired folder location.
