** All students and staff can apply to use outgoing mail (SMTP) service. Please submit request to ICTO Helpdesk for application.

For Outgoing SMTP settings on different client:

For Thunderbird Client:

1. Go to Tools, select “Account Settings”

2. Select “Outgoing Server (SMTP)” from the menu

3. Select your UM email account’s outgoing mail server profile and click on “Edit”

4. Input your UMPASS username as the following:

For Outlook 2010 client:

1. Go to “File Tab”, select “Account Settings” on “Info”

2. Select your email account

3. Click “Change”

4. Click “More settings”

5. Under the “Outgoing Server” Tab, select “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and choose “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”

6. Under the “Advanced” Tab, set the outgoing server port to be 587 and the type of encrypted connection to “TLS”

For iPhone client:

1. Go to “Settings”

2. Click “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and select your UM email account

3. Scroll down and click on “Outgoing Mail Server”

4. Configure the following settings:

For Android client (required version 4.1 or above):

1. Go to Email and select your UM email account

2. Tap on the “Menu” button

3. Select your UM email account

4. Scroll down, click on “Outgoing Settings” and configure the following settings:
