We suggest you to install Anaconda in your home directory. Anaconda is a high performance distribution of Python and R and includes over 100 of the most popular Python, R and Scala packages for data science.

1. Install Anaconda 2.7

# module add gcc/4.8.5

Get the Anaconda 2.7 from

# chmod u+x [The downloaded file]

Install to a folder in your home directory, for example: /home/[Your user ID]/anaconda2

2. Once finish the installation, the path for Python 2.7 will be added to your .bash_profile, re-source it by:

# source ~/.bash_profile

3. You should see the version 2.7 will be printed

# python --version

4. Install python’s module. Here is an example for installing MACE, which requires GSL:

# module add gsl/1.16

# cd [your MACE source path]

# python build_ext --include-dirs=/share/apps/gsl/1.16/gcc/4.8.5/include/ --rpath=/share/apps/gsl/1.16/gcc/4.8.5/lib/

# python install
